Believe it or not, classroom management is one of the most important aspects of teaching. Without it, the classroom culture will not establish itself as a structured environment for teaching and learning. In order for teachers to achieve their own goals, they must be effective classroom managers. So many of the college courses within the teaching credential program fail to help teachers develop solid classroom management systems and as a result, teachers cannot control the classroom. Even the most talented teacher requires new and innovative strategies and skills to effectively manage their classroom. When teachers have effective classroom management structures in place, instruction can flourish and lead a classroom that promotes collaboration, student voice, creativity, leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork.
In this workshop, teachers will learn
- Effective classroom management strategies for cooperation and teamwork
- Establish Routines and Procedures
- Reinforce expectations
- Develop disciplinary routines that are effective and fair
- Create a positive reinforcement system for desired student behaviors
